RE License And Commercial Investing

Is it necessary to have a RE license to become a commercial investor? Or would it hinder me? I just want to skip the single family residential investing. Does this sound crazy to want nothing to do with SFR?

Background: I spent 3 years as a L/O, and kind of got tired of the types of clients in that catagory along with the high pipeline fallout.

Although I realize that its just an observation on your part, however I feel that the business slowing to a crawl is enabling me do something I have always wanted to do, unfortunately the Friends and family route is not an option as most if not all have been hit hard by the economy. I am looking to Private Money Lenders to fund my deals and will be able to write an executive summary on the properties. My Question is who and where do I take it when I have located a good deal and have all the necessary documentation to prove that both I and the property can perform.

    This is the true question.
