Rate Of Return

We are sending out 1000 post cards every 3 weeks. Demographic of the area: Almost 3000 homes in neighborohood and growing. Houses built in 98 or later. House in area are a hard sell due to new homes built in area.
So what type return are others getting on mailings. Mailing 1000 out what can I expect for a return. What experience have others had this is what I want to know

    We find it impossable to track the effectiveness of our direct mail pieces. This is primarily due to what we think direct mail pieces are good for: name recognition. If I were to guess, I would say that we have never had a single direct mail piece result in a sale. Our belief is that the consistancy of repeated mail pieces sent to the same individuals is what creates results.
