Raising Rent On 1 But Not The Other

Hello, I am in CA and have 2 tenants in a duplex behind my house. It is time to raise the rent and I want to raise the rent more on one tenant than the other. Basically because I like one tenant more than the other, they are easier to deal with and handle their own small repairs. The units are identical. I am guessing that the tenants will talk and compare and realize that one having a higher increase in rent. Do I have any legal issues if I do this?

Thank you

I was concerned about the discrimination part of it. Of course it has nothing to do with race, religion or anything like that. The tenants I like are the ones that are of another ethicity and background.
I did like the idea of putting something in writing in regards to doing their own repairs. That basically can justify the difference in rents if need be.
    Thank you
