Can't think of any reason why not as long as you make him a joint tenant of some sort so that when the mortgage forecloses it gets both of you. None-the-less lenders are wierd. Wouldn't hurt to ask yours,

Reason is, I want to add the relavtive to the title in order to finance a pool. She has perfect credit, where as mine is lousy.

I would recommend contacting your lender as ask them if they can be added to the mortgage. Some lenders will let you if you add them on title with you.
Then again, if you show the finance company proof that your relative is on title, then they will lend her the money, she does not necessarily need to be on the mortgage.

Just took your advice and called by current lender. They say I can certainly add her to the title without going thru them, just go to the county recorder and do it. Sounds to good, but I'll do it come Monday, thanks for the idea. Hopefuly we'll have a pool in the back yard before it gets to be 115 degrees.

You can put any 1 on the title or the mortgage through refinancing. And if you need extra money to fix up your home or what ever else all you can do is tap your equity.
