i'm looking for a cpa to help me with my property management business. what questions should i ask to determin who to chose?

can they answer the questions you have (w/o having to look it up)
do you mesh w/ their personality.
See if there is some obcure question you can ask to see if the know it.
I would ask them specifically how much experience they have in the real estate world. For example, do they understand the 121 exclusion, the 1031 exchange, are they up on the depreciation rules inlcuding depreciation recapture, can they explain capital gain calculations, ask them what the difference is between, including the tax aspects, of holding a property for sale versus holding it for investment. These are just a few that pop into my mind.

these are great questions to ask, also if you mesh well with the person is also something to look for. thank you
ask them if they own real estate for an investment. You want to make sure they understand what you are trying to accomplish and actually have experience in it. Not all CPA's have the same experience and background, and that should be a huge qualifier for you.
