Question For Floridian Investors
I'm sick and tired of cold $hitty weather and have decided to head south. I am planning on implementing a long-term buy and hold strategy focusing mainly on small to mid sized apartment buildings. I am young, single and very motivated to make money. I have a job lined up as a property manager, which i plan on keeping until i have created enough cashflow to support myself.
I am having trouble deciding on which Florida market I want to enter. Jacksonville is attractive because of its protected growth and the fact that many large companies are moving there. I'm also interested in the area north of West Palm Beach (treasure coast) and then the Boca area, although it is expensive.
Are there any investors/landlords in these areas that could give me a heads up as to what to expect in these markets. I have found a few acceptable deals in each of these markets online, but it is very hard to gauge the markets, as a whole from 1200 miles away. Any info and recomendations you guys could give this fledgling investor would be much appreciated.
Dave
