looks like you are from N.C - there is a company out here that deals exclusively in investment real estate in the raleigh area. There website is www.deaton.com. Good luck though in getting an opportunity to purchase any of their listed properties, unless your part of their investor network. They made it next to impossible for me to see any properties when I was shopping for some properties. They didnt say so explicitly, but they make it difficult to see a property unless you are working with them because they try to deal exclusively within their circle of investors/agents. If you join their network then you should be ok.
I see that unfortunately this is a bad problem in our society. There is plenty of advice above that can be taken to heart both on a personal and professional level.
With regards to this particular situation, what should I reveal to prospective tenants? Do I have to tell them about the offenders close by? Or is it up to them to check on these things? Personally, I have never looked this up even for properies I was purchasing to live in. I always felt that one needs to be vigilant regardless of where one lives.
Is there any real estate disclosure law that mandates informing prospective tenants of this situation? The units are 3 bedrooms so most likely wil attract families.
Why not place a small ad and let them find you?

Thanks for the offer ceinvests. But I want to stay in my hometown.
Thanks ceinvests, will do!
sex offenders are everywhere. I was told by my realtor that every zip code in CA has at least 1 sex offender.
Thanks for all the responses.
