Do Any Of You Take Credit Cards, Debt Cards, Or Paypal?

I was thinking if I could set up a way to take these cards so I could get my money faster.



Also how hard is it to set up an automatic withdraw. I know that I can set up almost every bill I owe to automaticly take the money out of my acount if I want. Have any of you done this with your tenents? Any help would be great.

    We also have them pay the bank directly. No more late payments. You do have to make sure the rental amounts of your properties are different values.

    I have 1 I take credit card for but they had to sign an agreement to say they could not dispute the charges.

    I accept Paypal for my short-term vacation rental. I offer it as an option to folks but require them to pay 3.5% for a processing fee. It amazes me how many folks do this - about 30%.

    However, this clientele has money - they are willing to spend thousands on a weeks vacation renting cabins, boats etc.

    This is probably not a viable option for residential rentals unless it is high end stuff with tenants often out of town on business trips, etc.

    I accept paypal and bill them an extra fee to cover some of the paypal expense. I do incur part of the expense. I am looking to do automatic bank draft I think that would eliminate the fees. Anything to make it easier to pay after all they are the customer.

    I have been using the online property management system renttropolis for about 6 months now. They offer direct debit process(which I have not used yet) and also paypal. All I had to do was setup a business account with Paypal and have my tenant signup online. The system allow me to charge an additional fee for a paypal transactions and I have found that the tenants that I have using it prefer this payment option over sending me a check.

    The cost of the property mangagment system is $19.97 a month and the additional paypal fee is 2.9% of the transaction. But I would imagin that you can just use paypal if you like but I like all of the other benefits that I get from the online property management software.

    And all of my tenants that have computers that I am aware of are using it[ Edited by boo151 on Date 04/08/2007 ]
