Property With A Bad History

I have the opportunity to purchase, at a VERY reduced price, a desirable property in which there was a violent crime (murder/suicide). This is a reputable neighborhood with a generally low crime rate. The event occurred about one year ago. Would those of you who are experienced purchase this property - or is it tainted beyond repair?

I bought one just like that a few years back where the son had been murdered in the basement. I was a little creepy at first but man did I make a killing.
I think that you have to disclose this even though the seller didn't for us but everyone knew anyway. Go for it.

What are your intentions with the house will you be living in it? renting it out or flip it?
A few months ago on this web site there was a long posting about this topic.

I have had the same experience once only found out about the murder a few months ago when I was having a problem with the tenant I was attempting to get him out and he said he didnt want to move because his brother 's spirit still talks to him, I asked what in the world he was talking about and he told me his brother used to live there also and was shot and killed there and since then his spirit talked to him... go figure... btw he did move shortly after the eviction papers were served.
