Property Investigation Question

How does everyone get comps for the properties they are looking at trying to wholesale??? I have found one particular website but it wants me to sign up and have an agent contact me. I don't need all of this if I'm just tying to simply get comps for one area in which I may or may not even make an offer on a place. What kind of vehicles does everyone else use to get this type of info?

There are a few things you can do.

One, the town assessors office has a list of properties sold in that town, and for how much. Then you can get one of those free MLS books, and look to see any properties that are for sale.

Also, you can go to the board of realtors, (usually county situatied) and you can buy MLS access for a yearly fee. Many investors take that route, because its eaiser to jump on the computer than it is todrive out to the city hall

I use NNERN ( Northern New England Real Estate Network) It is run by the local Realtors and I believe all areas of the country have such local web sites.

www.Realtor.com gets their info from these sites, adds pretty pictures and advertisment.

A local realtor told me about it so maybe one of your locals maybe able to help you out.

These are only current listings but you dont have to deal with the fluff of www.realtor.com
