Powerwashing Brick

Can you powerwash brick to make it look better or even brighten the color somewhat?

    You can get dirt off.....but you have to becareful not to damage the brick.

    Depending on the age and type of brick you have will determine how clean you can get it.

    Some of the bricks being used today have a thin cosmetic covering......you have to be very careful not to knock off the face of the brick.

    typically a low pressure wash will take care of it.

    I would advise working in a area that is less conspicuous in case you mess up.

    You have to be especially careful of the mortar. The pressure you use on the brick may be too much for the mortar and damage it. Stand back with the wand and move closer gradually until you see what you can get away with. Depends on the condition of the mortar also.

    Depending on the condition of the brick a low pressure acid wash works wonders!
