Post-Foreclosure Right Of Redemption
is it possible to come back after the foreclosure and work out something with the homeowner to get the property back. i guess what i am asking is what rights does the homeowner have in the right of redemption after the foreclosure?
Foreclosure laws and customs, including ROR (rights of redemption) vary from state to state, and sometimes from county to county.
It's good to have an understanding of the customs in your own jurisdiction. For the most reliable information, ask a local real estate attorney, or hit the library.
If you'll enter "TX Statutes and Foreclosure" in search engine, you'll quickly find and can read TX D/T Foreclosure laws. And you can learn IF TX D/T foreclosure laws provide ANY post foreclosure redemption rights.
Same for any state stats. you might want to see, any state. Some state legislature or Bar Ass'n sites are easier to decypher than others, and as I recall, TX has one of the better ones.
Or, if you're close to your county courthouse, just go and find their law library, then find Vernon's Annotated TX Statutes and you can quickly find Foreclosure laws in index.
