Good luck..I would like to know about the Redemption thing, too. Just lost our house after 9 yrs...long story, but basically money controlling wife, lying, and keeping things hidden till it was too late. Crazy thing is, I still love her to death!! But, it'll never happen again like that!

I'm in Michigan, and here it is 6 - 12 months. You can redem the property; but now you have to get a new mortgage and pay off the foreclosing mortage company.
i live in nevada i have no idea what the redemption period is if there even is one. i just know that i have to move out of my house. how do i see about a redemption period? the real estate lady said if i could find someone to buy my house that i had to move out for 30 days or something soi i needed to find someone to qualify for a loan and she told me to go to her lender. anyone know if i can stay in my house in nevada? im numb and dont know what to do next.
Redemption periods are different in every states. Some states do not have redemption periods. To find out if you reside in a state that has a redemption period, you might want to talk to an attorney.
In MN, where I live, we have a redemption period for 6 months. Within that time period, you can sell your home, or come up with all the cash to pay your loan in full.
Being that you may not have enough money to pay the loan in full, you may want to have an investor buy your house, and do a lease with option to buy. That way, you wouldn't have to move, and you would be able to purchase the house...
Or, the owner might do a CD to allow you to buy it from him.

Was it judicial (the lender went to court) or non-judicial (they simply advertised the foreclosure in the legal news)? That will determine if you have a redemption period or not. What did the sherriff's notice say about your move out date?
Either way you should get to work right now. You might be able to refi the house but it will be tough with a foreclosure on your credit history. Selling is more likely -- you might get some of your equity back.

Your best bet is to speak to an attorney in your area who practices real estate law. If you have limited funds, make a call to Legal Aid in your area.
