People Searches (skip Trace) Free Or Dirt Cheap?
Does anyone use the pay for search sites like "people data, people finders, ussearch, peoplesearch, locate america or research sites like web-dectective, identity crawler ect... Are they a rip-off or can you really find people verses a real skip tracer?
I know of an investor who uses a legitimate On-Line background research company (HireRight.com). He's paying about $70-75, but gets the details he needs and splits the costs with his applicant's. He says that it weeds out the potentially bad renters.
If it's about renter screening, I did some online research and turned up 2 different websites where I can find info about bankruptcies and criminal records (and they seem quite thorough, and free!). It's just for Minnesota, though, but here they are if anyone can use them...

Could be you could find similar ones for your state. I keep them in my favourites folder for quck reference.
Some sites I use:
Qwest Dex
www.qwestdex.com
Google
www.google.com
Search Bug
www.searchbug.com
Can provide address and phone numbers from the “invisible web”
Retrieves documents stored in .pdf, word, excel and power point
Be sure to use quotation marks for words grouped together. Offers reverse phone search
A simple personal property tax search can provide new location information
Contacting the neighbors next door to the subject property and directly across the street can yield a wealth of information
The Polk City Directory is another great tool
