Co-signer Question

A family member has ruined his credit and wants to refinance with cash out. He has about 200k+ in equity and wants to sell within 6 months. My question, is Co-signing a loan- refi or equity line possible and would the best rates be available if the cosigner has excellent credit and prestiges job, including assets. Or would they still look at the main applicants credit and payment history. Just hate to see my brother paying high interest and I want to help get him some quick cash to clear debts and get ahead.
How can I use my credit to help asap? Thank you for any input! surprised

If he is intending to sell in 6 months, it is not worth the cost or your time to step into the picture! If his credit is shot, and you still intend to refi/cash-out or Heloc, he should not appear on the note. It is all you!

It is just good old fashioned networking. You have to first let everyone know that you are interested in real estate investing. You never know who might also be interested. Realtors, CPA,s Attorneys, Bankers and best of all other Investors are great leads.

Another good approach is to join a real estate investment club.

    Hey John,

I just noticed that you are a birddog and that you are also in Vancouver. I am a Siding & Window Contractor in Vancouver and also a fairly new investor. I was just wondering if you know of any prospect properties in Vanc right now.

    Thanks

As for finding partners - Do you have any real estate based clubs in your area? Why not join and learn from successful investors? Call the "We Buy Houses" Ads in the paper and tell them that you are interested in finding them deals. Start off that way and work some deals with them - if you like how they do business, then do bigger deals with them!

Find people who are successful at what you want to do and do what they do!

    Good Luck!
