2nd And 3rd Mortgages
I am a new guy here and am thinking about doing the REI thing. I have a question for you folks. This is the first of what I imagine will be many questions to come.
If I buy a property at a Sheriff's auction and there is a 2nd or even a 3rd mortgage, who is responsible for paying those off?
I understand that any tax issues will follow the house and that I would be responsible --- Is that correct?

In my county when you receive a sherriff's deed the property is clear. If you have to pay for something it is discloses to you before you pay the clerk of courts dept. You would have to check with the county guidelines.
