Owned By "heirs Of..."
I pass by a great house every day. It has been vacant for several years. I checked the property tax records, and they have it listed as owned by the "Heirs of [Jane Doe]" (They use the real name, rather than Jane Doe. I assume the name is of the former owner.) The address for the heirs is the property address.
I would like to find out more about who the heirs are and how to contact them directly. (I doubt whether mail sent to the "heirs" at the property address will get to them.)
Any suggestions?
Go to your county records department (either online or the court house) and see if the estate of the former owner has been probated. If it has been probated then find out who is the personal representative.
