Orange County Florida Bandit Sign Posters Beware

I just got a certified/ return signature letter in the mail from code enforcement. They warned me not to post any more Bandit signs around town. I guess they pulled my Address from my cell phone # that was on the sign. It would be good idea to make whatever # you have on your signs an unlisted #.

yep that works, and so does pre paid cell phones in fake peoples names. find out how much the fines are and if its not much then i wouldnt go through the trouble of changing my number and what not. if you make 20k on a deal then whats a 200 dollar fine.

The letter says up to $1000 fine per day. The problem is I have not put any signs out for 6 months. I nailed a few on some telephone poles in some rural areas and I think those are the ones they are mad about. I still have a whole bunch of bandit signs in my garage and no longer use them- I am getting a better responce from newspaper ads plus this place is flooded with too many bandit signs.

Someone in the CFRI RE club of central FL just got fined 2k in Orange county.

I used to put out about 100 signs a week through the help of a few hired college students. That stopped when I received a few angry calls from someone claiming to be code enforcement. Like someone mentioned about a bunch of signs in the garage... I have about 400 signs in my garage that seemed like a good deal when I bought them.

Just out of curiosity who is the investor that was fined in Orange county? Are the letters of their first and last J. R.?

An update on Bandit Signs: Orange county government filed a supena with ATT/cingular to get my billing info. I got a copy of the supena from cingular.
Be very careful with these signs if you live in the central florida area. Code inforcement is coming after us.

Well, I am the person that report that an investor from Orange county FL got a 2k fine. I do not know if it was Jason, I was told of the find by the very reliable Todd H.

But right I hear this story from Todd, I get a call on my sign. I know exactly which one because it is the only one I have up. We talk and then I write down their name and phone number. But their name is bugging me. I know that name. I google it and it is the sherriff of the county. I panic thinking it is a sting operation. All my real estate friends say not to call back. But I want the house so I call back and ask if it is a sting. He says no. We meet at the house that afternoon and sign a contract. So .... the only house I have every bought from a bandit sign was from the sherriff.

oddly enough i ran into the same thing.

A state trooper called off one of my signs and i ended up purchasing one of his houses. What is ironic is that i called the "police (the cop that called off my sign)" on a guy for complaining about my signs. there is a wack job around here who "Hates advertising." This guy does not work for the town or anything, he is just a complete fruitloop and trys to set up fake appointments so he can meet me and kill me or somthing. I caught him in the act because the house number he gave me didnt exist and then he admitted to it. Anyway, i call the police on this guy for taking my signs and threatening me.

so the moral of the story is, authority is not always against you. ..

    have fun, Ryan
