Oklahoma Tax Liens

If a tax lien is bought over the counter after the three months and no redemption who or how do I apply or obtain a deed.

I know I'm new but can someone please help me with an answer cool grin

    If I am assigned /sold a county held tax certificate in Ooklahoma the redemption period is three years? Even if the certificate is two years old?

    Hello,

    Sorry, I was just telling you it was years not months. The "3" was wrong.

    Oklahoma has a 2 year right of redemption. The time starts from the date the Cert was sold, whether to the County or an investor.

    Your reply is greatly appreciated. Do you know anything about "Lands Available for Taxes" in Florida? I know that the list consits of properties that were not bid on or purchased at Tax Deed auctions, but that's about it. I am planning on going to either Oklahoma, Alabama, or Florida to research and purchase a tax lien (matured) or tax deed. Which state do you recommend.

    Actually to apply for the deed depends upon the date of the certification as well as the date of purchase. If I remember correctly if you purchase a certificate over-the-counter near 60 day prior to the end of the redemption period you can apply for the immediately at the end of the redemption period, but if you purchase a certification after the 2 year redemption period you still have to wait an additional 60 days to apply for the deed, because notice must be serve to all parties involved regarding that tax lien.
