Oh The Joys Of Rehabbing In A Small Town
I am doing a rehab on some homes in a small town and boy it is a pain. Not much in terms of skilled workers out there so I thought to use regular subs. Well today I fot an estimate from a guy to do the drywall and his estimate is more than 3 times the normal rate. I mean come on. To hear this guy talk you would think he was going hours away from where he lives when the town is only 20 minutes away. And it is a similar situation with the other subs - electrical, hvac, etc
Now I am figuring it will be easier to use my own employees and out them up in a motel for a few days.
There is a desperate need for nicer homes in this town so I really want to get a team together for rehabs there.
Why are folks so resistant to the small towns?

Thanks, I will try the craigslist.
I think the rattejack is due to the small town because the same sub went to Orlando - about 2 plus hours away and it was the same rate as usual. yet off the beaten path they all act like I am asking them to go to Hades or something
