Occupancy Clause
I am dealing with an insurance claim and need some assistance. Unfortunately, the property manager who managed the property had domestic abuse situation and had to skip state. With her departture leases, rent rolls etc. disappeared with it. I am now trying to followup on a insurance claim and insurance company is requiring information to prove that the properties were occupied. All, I have been able to provide to this point is receipts that the gas, electric and water were paid during this time. I understand that leases and rent roll would go a long way. Is there a document that I can have neighbors create that would assist the process? Would a simple letter from the neighbors stating that they can attest that the property was occupied?
Thanks in adavnce for any advice,
Ray
Seems like copies of the checks you recieved from the property manager would prove occupancy. You could also give them a copy of your lease. I dont think they would go for the neighbors statement if they are trying to verify income. Insurance co. would say it was your cousin or something.
