NYC Door To Door

I'm a new investor and I wanted to know if anybody here has been doing
Foreclosure door to door in NYC.
I was trying this for a few days and without any success.
Most of the home owners are not at home or don’t open the door.

Any advice, tips, or opinions?

Thanks, Dan

I would stay clear of door knocking.. The best use of your time is to do mail outs.. And then follow up with a knock on there door.. Comfort these people, do not scare them..

There are some very big time preforeclosure gurus who say that door knocking is not only the best, but the only way to do preforeclosures. A face to face contact beats a letter or a phone call. It takes a special type of person to persistantly knock on doors. I don't do it because it's not compatible with my personality. If the other media was not sufficient to satisfiy you needs, then I'd be knocking on doors also.

I would encourage you to continue knocking on doors. It will pay off. If no one is home/doesn't answer the door, leave a letter in a sealed enveloppe with your business card.

If they don't get the door, leave a bussiness card, after that mail them a hand written letter. Knock again, folllow-up, follow-up. It's a numbers game. Just keep at it!

Honestley, I know of a lot of investors who go door to door. They are masters at this game. They try to be the first ir last people these people see. You're going to have to beat them. If it means going door to door until you meet someonew cause the other guy is on vacation so be it. do what you gotta www.do.i also hope you're only chasing real deals and not just going after anyone who will talk to you... :-D

People who are going into foreclosure are usually NOT opening their mail. They do not want to be bothered by another bill collector sending them some "reminder" on a bill that they owe.

They will usually answer the door though. If people are not home during the day, then go after 5 or 6pm. Its alright if you interrupt their dinner, you just might be able to save them from foreclosure and get them some money to move out of their house that they can not afford.

YES continue to knock on doors!!! After you purchase a few of these you will definately be giving the same advice to others to keep knocking on doors.

Thanks you all for the encouragement.
I think knocking on doors is a good way to start and get good results
And I can do it as far as my personality and the tips I got here.
I’m working in the low income areas of N.Y; I usually go in the afternoon
But people here are very hard
Usually they disconnect the door bell and even if they are at home
Most of them won’t open the door or speak to you over the door.
The one’s that I do succeed to talk to,are as a lot of people here said in completely denial and don’t want any help at all.
Once I met a woman that said that “god will help me” 7 days before the auction.
    I will keep trying
And once again thanks for your advices
