Notice Of Interest

It has been recommended that I record a Notice of Interest on a property as soon as I can to preclude someone else recording a claim to the title of a property.

Where can I find a Notice of Interest? I haven't found one through search engines on the web. Perhaps it has another name?

Any clues?

    Garry,

Ask your county recorder's office how do you go about recording an interest in a property that you have under contract (if that's the case). They may be able to walk you through it. Each county uses different terms to mean the same thing. So your county may be using a different term to mean the same as Notice of Interest.

What would be this Notice of Interest? Just saying that the property is under contract? what is the purpose? and would there be any ramifications to short selling the property with this recorded?

    I'm going Hummmmm...

Good question? I am going "hmmmmmm" as well. Anyone have an explanation for us on this one?

When you place a property under contract, there is no way of knowing if the seller is going behind your back and selling the property to someone else because he got a better offer. So, if you get a property under contract, then some people like to record a Notice of Interest so the seller cannot sell the property from under them.
