Note Buying In Canada
Hello everyone,
I'm a newbie in Nova Scotia. I googled for information and can't seem to find anything on buying and selling mortgages and notes in Canada.
Any Canadians here that can point me in the right direction for contacts or information?
One specific question - If I use my self-directed RRSP to invest in a private mortgage, can I later instruct the trust company to sell that mortgage to a note buyer?
Has anyone here done that? If so, what trust company do you feel is best to use for this?
Several of the institutional note buyers have looked hard at Canadian notes but never got a program going. There has been so much interest in Canada over the years I suspect there are some private investors purchasing Canadian notes but they are keeping quiet. Do you see any advertisements for note buyers in your Canadian newspapers or yellow pages? That might start you on the right path.

Thanks for the reply. My area (Halifax, NS) has a metro population of about 300,000, but I don't find any ads in the local papers or Yellow Pages for note buyers.
Anyone else have suggestions on how to find note buyers active in Canada?
