Can anyone tell me who to go to in NC to start my LLC. Prices would be a plus also. I was talking to a guy who told me to start it in Delaware. Any insight would be helpful.
If you want to go to the State Site Try here http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/corporations/indxfees.asp
It looks like your costs with the state are $125.00. The state filing requirements are found here. If you don't want to use a third party to do the forms for you, It is not that difficult to do it yourself. It may involve a trip to Charlotte
Good Luck,
Jeff
Well, I just got done forming an LLC here in South Carolina, so even though I can't recommend someone in NC, any accountant or attorney that does it cheaply should suffice(paperwork is pretty simple, so you might be able to file yourself). The reason someone reccomended Deleware is because of their pro company and strict privacy attitude. As far as pricing, I got my accountant to process it for me for about $100(but not really sure what people are usually charged). Hope this helped a little. This company does it pretty cheap as outside services go. http://www.inccheap.com/index.htm or http://www.incorporatetime.com/

Thank you both for your insight but what is the difference between NC and DE when it comes to pro company and strict privacy policies.
Thanks again both of you.
Jim
I have North Carolina LLC. I did it through an expensive attorney but I don't think you need to.
My attorney said that for CORPORATIONS, you might want to go with incorporating in DE or NV.
However, for LLCs, getting one in NC is just fine. The DE and NV advantages apply to corporations, not LLCs.
Bear in mind that the annual cost to maintain it is $225.
It's only $75/year for S-Corp. Something to think about.
