No Luck Finding Private Investors.....
I have been advertising in local paper seeking private investors who would like a piece of the action. The ad is:
Immidiate investment opportunities for private investors. Call XXXXX LLC (not trying to advertise here) 555-555-555.
I have run this ad under the investment opportuinity classifieds section for a month only to get a couple of calls from people with no money. Is my target group reading this section of the paper? Is my ad stated correctly? Any suggestions?

Your ad is kind of vague and (pardon my french) boring. It certainly doesn't compel me to call you.
Jazz it up but don't make false claims and be careful not to get the regulators upset.
400% ROI, secured by first trust deed or the like.

If I were looking to lend my money out I would skip right over your add because you didn't tell me what's in it for me. You need to jazz that thing up a bit.
If you're not sure how to do that try searching the past articles posted here and I'm sure you will find some masterfly written, attention getting adds!

also, to be a stickler, i hope these typos are just in your post here and not in the actual paper. i couldn't see calling someone back who spelled immidiate with an "i" instead of immediate with an "e". also, phone numbers here in the states have 10 numbers. hahahah. juss joshin. but like other said, do put some numbers in there - i haven't met an investor yet who said they don't like numbers!

Thanks for the advice. However I couldn't resist the challenge on the spelling of 'immediate’. I’m pretty sure I got it right.

My life is advertising, I grew up on it, it flows through my blood...when you see a billboard, I start analyzing it and seeing if really reaches the right people, etc. Everyone does not have this vision, some are amazing at numbers, others are great negotiators...
What you are missing is the vision. When advertising to your consumer/customer:

Meaning, if you want to attract investors, then really sit down for about 30 minutes, take a piece of paper and write down who would have money sitting around that they would invest? Why would people want to invest? How can you make them feel safe? Once you figure that out, then write down, where do these people go, where do they work, what do they read? You'll find that 99% of the people do not read the investment section at all. You'll probably find that most of your people read the obituaries more than the investment section.
Once you have decided who you think has the money, then all you have to do is really think about how to get a good message, one that would attract you if you had money, in front of them.
If you really spend time on this instead of wasting it in the paper, you will be very happy.
