Looking for other curious first timers to discuss real estate topics and possibly form a Real Estate Investment Club. If you are intrested in networking with other first time investors, just like me. Please feel free to post a reply. Hopefully we can motivate each other to become more confident real estate investors.
I am a newbie also in the Detroit Area. Starting this post is a good idea.
I am interesting in networking with others in the area. I am hoping to get into rehabbing.
I am doing my homework now and organizing questions to ask the various contacts I will need. You can learn a lot about what not to do by reading posts on this site.
What area of investing are you starting in.?
Thanks for your reply. The first area of concern to me is rehab. My long term goal is to invest in apartments or multi-family duplexes.
what part of the process are you in? do you already have contacts i.e. REA, HML, Contractors or handymen?
How close do you think you are to making your first deal?
FYI, there's a good REI Association in Oakland County. I've attended a few meetings in the past and they seem like a good organization. http://www.reiaofoakland.org I'm not sure what type of experience you guys have in construction but be very careful starting with rehaps without the proper knowledge. I,m currently in the process of networking with other curious investors who are not going to charge me a arm and leg just to join their club / investment group. I have just started to learn about real-estate and hoping to be in the process of purchasing my first property within the next few months. Once again let me state that I,m extermly motivated to learn all I can before I plunge in head first! AS - FAR - AS for contacts a motivated real estate agent and a home project agency to help with any rehab work. Thanks again, ramoody33

As TomC_MI stated above I need to be carefull because I do not have experience in construction.
What exactly is the home project agency you speak of ramoody33?
I will need to find an agency, handyman, etc... who can visit a property with me in order to estimate the repairs needed.
