Newbie On TCI But Early RE Success In Central FL
Let me introduce myself:
Rick in Central Florida (Leesburg, Lake County) near Orlando. 42 years old. Been in Insurance business since I was in my late 20's. Car business before that. So been on commission only income my entire career. Have good income (live way below it), some cash and great credit. Lost six figures in stock market on tech stocks (join club right?). So here I am.
Started in REI 9 months or so ago. Had read many books about it first for years and years. Read Robert Allen's "Nothing Down" when I was in my early 20's. Bought Carlton Sheets stuff last year. Decided to begin on my journey to replace the stock loss.

Hi Rick,
Nice to meet you
Where were you when i was looking in Winter Park area for a rehab for my son to rent from me whilst going to school?
While i live in MI at the moment, a Fl rehab is hopefully in my future next fall/winter (hubby is a retired firefighter and has his contractor's license here) as the winters get DARN cold!! (was 2 the other day, with a windchill of -20 or something ridiculous). I'm fairly new to investing too, we're doing a rehab here (foreclosure, bought for 13k, renting it to #2 son while rehabbing and will sell within a year for 35-45k) . Glad to know there's someone in your area interested in sharing.
Congrats on your deals so far, they sound promising and (most of all) legal.
Best of luck,
becki
p.s. my hubby's name is rick too, but he's alittle older than you.
Thanks for the welcome. Sorry about your weather. Florida is the best! I just came back in from the yard with my 5 year old daughter and it is probably mid 60s or even 70 right now.
Congratulation on your investments. I live in Mi, but I would love to do investing in FL. Maybe you can help?
Yeah, maybe so (help you invest in FL).

well, congrats to you Rick.
I just wanted to say you were very insightful. I am a little shy and what not. but after reading this, I feel like anything is possible. Just can't sit here and wait for things to happen. Have to start opening up, getting out there, and talking to people. Hopefully I will find some nice deals such as yourself
Thanks, I do have some slight advantages like knowing my area and knowing the local real estate agents very well having gone to high school with many of them or their kids etc. But, I truly believe that anyone can find the deals today. What with all the info available now online etc.
