Newbie Needs Advice To Help Sailor In Iraq!
My friend got transfered to Charleston< SC a few months ago. Two weeks ago he was transferred to Bagdad.
Left the house here in Charlotte, NC. House is 4 Br, 2.5 Ba worth 148 to 150K. He owes 141K. He is desparate to sell. Wife and kids are on base in Charleston because he can't afford 2 mortgages. He had it listed with realtor but NOBODY LOOKED AT while listed. I am trying to sell at cost or subject to or just rent the damn thing to help him out. What should I do. The seller will do just about anything. I am truly trying to help, not make a profit. IDEAS???
Perhaps find a new realtor? No showings is a pretty severe problem. Find a new Realtor, or just stick a couple ads in the paper.

What does "subject to" mean?
May not help you sell the house, but active duty military have special protections that prevent foreclosures if it comes to that. Look into it.
They won't be moving back and are stuck on lousy base housing till they get it sold. They are also up to their eyeballs in Credit card debt.
The VA loan they have drops a percentage point while he is over seas but offers nothing else, They really want to be out from under this house.
There are vast quantities of new houses available that qualified buyers seem to be flocking to.
