Newbie Help
I just purchased and e-book by steve cook his busness plan, and was just wondering now what i also bought one of his courses just waiting for it to arive in mail. I guess my question is how to get started in the REI business. I am in the miltary right now have 8 years to i retire. Just thought this would be a good time to start investing. :-D
You could spend about a week in the TCI site reading forum posts. I would think this would help you considerably in determining for yourself how/when/where to get started...Assuming you have the right membership benefits, the forum search is a great tool!
Happy Holidays!

Thanks,
for the reply, I will do that and try to come up with some plan of action. :-D
don't waste your time or money on stupid books. they're mostly vague anyway. just go buy a house and flip it or rent it out or whatever as long as you have a pos cash flow. you'll learn more by going out there and getting your hands dirty.
I am also new to REI and have found a tremendous amount of valuable information simply viewing the forum posts.
Good Luck to you!
stupid books? Is there such a thing?
I guess there is but I would reccomend complementing your education with books, experience and these forums. Hit your local library to see what you can borrow for free and then network with other new investors and borrow their stuff.

Find and join your local REI club. Be wary of some of the "shark" wholesalers that prey on newbies though. Otherwise, they are a GREAT source of information, networking and motivation!
The previous post about stupid books needs to be clarified. Alot of books help you to get started, just don't spend your whole real estate career reading books and never taking action. Books will give you a decent foundation but you have to go out of execute your plan of action!
Good Luck!
