New Development
Hello all.
I was wondering if someone can give me the link to a question that was posted here a couple of days/weeks ago.
It was asking if any investors have put options on brand new parcels that are being developed(ie. community homes/condos that are just being built) and later selling the option for profit.
Has anyone ever done this type of investing?
Putting a parcel under option with the developer and later selling it for profit when the home is built?
Thanks in advance for any input
Gary
I have not done this, but I put commerical parcels under contract and marketed the contract. I then assigned the contract for participation ( not a fee).

Interesting, market the option which is separate from the contract. I thought builders stopped allowing assigning of contracts years ago. I know here in CA you cannnot assigned a contract, but the option is separate from this.
I don't know of any builders that would allow this. They have policies in place to discourage homeowners from selling homes in their developments until after they have closed out the new home sales themselves. You can try, but I wouldn't expect to have much success doing this.
