Need Some Serious Advice!!!!

I plan on forming a corporation, however I owe the IRS some money($1000) My question is. If I apply for a EIN number,is that number for the corp. or www.me.The reason I ask is on the form they ask for the officer requesting the www.number.Can they stop me from forming the www.corp.They are two seperate things LOL
Thanks
Tim

You can have a corp without an EIN, but you just can't do a whole lot with it. If you can afford to start a company that you intend to do business with, why not just pay what you owe?

The EIN is for the corp., not for you, and anybody (your mom, daughter, friend, etc.) could apply for the EIN for the corp, so your debt to IRS won't interfere in any way. Even if you applied for it yourself, it wouldn't interfere.

As far as seperation of your entity if you go with a "C" corporation you are double taxed as a corporation and as an employee. The same is not true for "S" corporations and "LLC's" the income flows through and is taxed at your personal tax rate.
