After compiling a list of distressed properties (pre-foreclosures, out of state owners, vacant run down properties) and sending out my first set of letters about 2 or 3 weeks ago.
Do I keep sending the same letter for follow ups or should I create a whole sequence of letters that reminds them that I have sent them letters in the past?

Yes, you want to compile a system in which you can keep track of what prospects got which letter and when.
I use 3 letters, and I send them with a one week gap in between. If you dont get results within a months time, then adjust your letters.(this time depends on the number of prospects you are targeting)

Would you mind sharing, what you say different in each of your three letters.
I was goint to send out:
1-3 pre-foreclosure letters (downloaded from this site)
1-5 in foreclosure letters (3 different letters "not sure yet what to pu in them"
