Moving To Hawaii......
Hello everyone,
I am a newbie, moving to hawaii with the military. I can live in military housing but would rather put my housing allowance (about 1800/month) to use in an investment project house that is in well enough shape to live in. Does anyone out there live on Oahu? know what the market is like there? I know it is very expensive there and want to start my research before I get there. Ideally my family and I need at least a three bedroom or large 2 bdrm with den. We have 3 small children. I appreciate any help you can give me!!! Thanks
going to be hard. 1500 sq ft houses run in the 600K range. I Have friends being transferred next months and I was out there in 2001. My recommendation would be to take advantage of the base housing, which has been updated and quite nice. Your family will have lots to do. The last things you want to be is house poor in the islands - take this tour and enjoy.

You can always research the market and then take the first year you are there to get an idea of the area - them make a better decision.
