Marshall Reddick Out-of-State Network Experience

I am beginner investor and am debating on working with foreclosures in CA or doing the buy and hold/LO out of state.

Can any give me suggestions on what choices you made and why?

Also, has anyone had any +/- experiences in purchasing in other states? How about through Marshall Reddick network?

I was thinking of just using ZipRealty, because I am skeptical about buying without seeing the property and neighborhood in person.
