LUFOS - Your Utility Program?

Lufos,
I read in one of your posts that you have a program (computer?) that helped you determine the utility usage of tenants in a multi-unit. Can you tell me more about this program, particularly its' name and where you got it from?
Thanks!

The teck is available and is known to the engineering department of most utilities.

You know when you buy say a 30 unit. It is all on a single electric master meter and most of the units in times gone by were rented furnished. Ugh. So the landlord got the utility bill and tried to increase rents to cover.

Well to set it up on individual meters is a pretty expensive operation. So the local hackers etc. devised a system where a electronic metering device could be set up which fed to a small desk top and once a month it merely printed out the use Kil of each unit and, you then fed in a rate and it printed out the bill per Kil used. How about that. Of course the landlord firm believer in the capitalistic system added a small super retail charge and oh my god a profit.

This method of doing things came originaly from the larger garment factories in Los Angeles. The owner of a hight limit building would zip around and read installed meters and bill on them to the tenants. He of course paid on the big single meter and marked up accordingly.

Having assigned all my goodies tomy lovely children who no longer communicate with me. Ah the idle rich. I will try and find out where the equipment comes from. It may come from the local Electronic shops where they are assembled on an individual requirement basis. e.Mail me **Please See My Profile**

Thanks for your reply. I am negotiating a purchase of an apartment complex, and want to get utility expenses passed on to the tenants ASAP. I will check with the local utility company.

Do you have any pictures of your containers as they transfrom into homes? Just curious.
