Louisiana, Bond for Deed
I have found a web about Louisiana's Bond for Deed law the site claims.
"A court has held that a "due on sale" clause in the seller's mortgage is not triggered by a bond for deed contract. Thus, a sale can be made without the requirement of paying off the existing mortgage in that situation."http://www.meocpa.com/bonddeed.html
I am curious if any one else knows more about this.
lacashman,
You might look through the "Louisiana real estate transactions" reference book by Peter S. Title. It has a section on Bond for Deed. You can find a copy of this reference book in your local library.
Hope this helps.
