Lost Rent Check?

Have you ever lost a rent check? I just misplaced a rent check... I moved my office, and I am sure as spittin that it got tossed out with random paperwork.

I had to call the tenant and ask them politely to cancel/reissue the check, offering to pay any cancellation fees.

What a hassle. But, what do you do?

This ever happen to you, or am I (as usual) a lone moron?

    royalfortune,

I thought for a moment there you were going to tell us "the checks in the mail" and it got lost...

You did it right the way you handled it, but tell everyone the lost in the mail story if you ever have to reapeat what happened.

The sky is the limit dont ever think there is a ceiling to how many properties one can own. If one bank says no 9 others will say yes. And thats the truth!

There are usually limits as to the number of loans a given bank will take. I believe that Countrywide has a limit of four, but I have been told they may make exceptions. I have had well over 10 loans with a single lender, however, as was pointed out in other posts, after 10 loans show up on your credit report, you will need non-conforming loans.
