LOL ~ Have You Heard Of This?!? Cutting Houses In 1/2?
I just wanted to tell you guys what some Investors here in Hawaii are doing and to see if this is widely known.
Ok, this person is in foreclosure and they want to stay where they live. Well the Investor offers XX dollars for the house, cuts it in half (literally) and moves it to another lot. So now the owner is happy cause they at least still have their credit and land in tact. I have an Investor who is mentoring me and he took me by the lot and the house is literally cut in half! I've never seen this before. Is this normal??

I had a client who was married to a very headstrong young lady who could end any difference of opinion by screaming loudly in Japanese., heavy Kumomoto Accent.
At one point in the relationship he had to see a doctor as his hearing was being reduced at an alarming rate. He was informed that the exposure to high decimal sound would have to be reduced or he would in time suffer a serious permanent hearing loss.
It was at this time that he bought the Airstream Trailer in an attempt to gain a full nights sleep.
Of course the marriage soon after became intolerable and he allowed her to file for Divorce naming unreconcilable differences. The decision was reached that the couple should divide everythng evenly. Which they did, the house was sold the furniture divided. Each took a car. Right down the middle full agreement on everything except the lovely Airstream Trailer. The Baca loud Japanese lady would accept no compromise and in accordance with their agreement the trailer was cut in two by utilization of a plasma cutting tool. I mean right in two.
As designated agent I was charged with the disposal of the newly seperated trailer and I sold it as junk and received the sum of $200 which I divided between my client and his now ex, hi decibel partner.
The trailer was of course put back together at considerable expense and I then had it delivered to my clients new small house in West Hollywood.
The mistake was leaving it parked at the curb. It was there that the ex wife, high volume type spyed it and speeding up her Land Rover smashed into it in such a manner as to completely destroy it past any hope of salvage. Her screams set off the nearby Air Raid Alarm. Fractured a Antique Korean Vase in a house across the street and drove a nearby cat to abandon its dinner and set off in pursuit of what it thought was a Mountain Lion in Full Heat.
When screetchy voice got out of hospital a lawsuit was filed against her and full recovery of the cost of a new Airstream Trailer was obtained with the usual attorney and other costs added thereon.
An additional court order was also given. She was not to come wihin 100 yards of my client and she was restrained from uttering any sound above middle C within an additional area of 300 yards. This additional yardage was awarded in view of the possible auditory damage to nearby neighbors, their children and pets.
One of my favorite mementos are the heavy ear muffs I would put on whenever she took the witness stand. I believe they were in large part the reason for our complete legal victory. Also in momento of the occasion my client presented me with a small silver object to wear on a chain around my neck. It was a G Cleft with a diagonal Bar Sinister Rampant. On which was positioned a full four beat note at High C Flat!

It is not that odd really.(depends on where you live) many people are restoring old wood frame houses built over 100 years ago and are restoring them. First they cut the cut the house in halve (so they can move it) then it gets moved to your lot of choice mostly of several acres then it is fully restored and either lived in or sold for BIG bucks...very popular especially doun in the south
Hey bigcape, how much does it cost to cut a house in two and move it somewhere else? I'd love to move some of these big beautiful brick buildings out of a nearby crack infested city and onto some nicer plot . Z
Moving houses was big stuff here in Los Angeles some35 years. Ago. What occured is that they would decide to put in a freeway and all of the houses on the line were taken by the city under Eminent Domain. You got a check and you could then move the house or leave it. So you could buy up to about 1200sf single story house for a few hundred dollars. The moving house companies then came over, cut it loose from the foundation, slid some big 6 by 6's under and roll the house up and onto a series of wheels and platforms and away you went. The worst part was the permits to move because if there were any power poles and wires etc., they had to be lifted and occasionaly you had to do a disconnect.
The smart thing was to have your foundation all set and poured and the rough waste lines and water lines and gas line all in and in place.
The truck rolls up, the house comes down and then is lifted once again on 6 by 6 rollers and onto the foundation, a little push me pull me and tie it on.
Buy a cheap lot in the South part of the city. get the cheapy house, set the foundation and move it over and on.
Another teck was just to move it on the lot, leave the rollers underneath and then dig in the foundation and slot pour, remove the timbers complete the pour and there you are.
Lots of fun, you ended up with really cheap housing. Lots were in fills in lower value neighborhoods, the houses obtained cheap and the big expense really in the move. Highest I ever paid was moving a McKinley Stinker from what became the 405 Freeway all the way to Willoughby a distance of about six miles.
There is little new in the world, most things have been done before. A daily diary is really great as a reference. Of course you must arrange to burn it prior to death. With evidence like that you will never get into heaven. Oh Well.
