Life After Eviction....how To Get My Money
i filed eviction, the tenant left 2 days before the hearing, so there was no hearing at all. what should i do now, to get the rent she owes me ....???
i am in ny state, any siggestions for good lawyers?thanks in advance!
well, i do not have a lease, because I bought the place at an auction. she just refused to leave. When the lawyer tried to serve her the papers for the eviction, she did not open the door, but sent her daughter to do so. in ny, if you have not served her PERSONALLY, you can not be awarded money....
she moved, and I do not know her new address, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I just do not know waht to do, in our county small claims is under 3K, and she owes me more.....please help!
If she did not have a lease then how do you figure that she owes you anything?
You bought this property at an auction, so was this an inherited tenant? Was there an oral lease? Did she pay ANY rent? Is an oral lease even legal in NYS?
