lender not budging

I have two short sales in progress and in both cases(different lenders) they are playing hard ball. Both are asking full price for payout.

Home inspection report showing major temite damage, new heating and air needed(one furnace blew up and left a hole in the wall)...has not budged these lenders. Several counters have gone back and forth. Any suggestions? One was taken off the steps and sitting in limbo. The other is scheduled for the steps April 1. confused

    MSPEACH,

I'm in Georgia and I've had little luck with short sales in this area.... Lenders wanting all the money not wanting to negotiate.

I'm beginning to think that short sale policy is changing because of the amount of foreclosure in our area?

I offered 160 on a house that was worth 180 fixed up... that's 88% of fmv. They said 180 or no deal.

Some banks are just plain stubborn! They truly believe that they will get more money at auction than if they short sale.

Sometimes the person you speak to on the phone will tell you something completely different from another person who answers the phone.

One option is to call the lender and ask to speak with the supervisor. See if you can negotiate with the supervisor. If not, then don't waste your time on that deal. There are other deals out there, you may miss 10 by spending all your time negotiating with one.

thank you for your responses. It does seem to have a lot to do with the particular person assigned to the individual account. Same company, two different loans and totally different responses in a couple of cases.

An estimate of expenses and repairs done by a handyman will stand up much more than estimates from an investor.

This is what situation I was in on my first short sale.

That is the odd thing. I set an inspection report from a home inspection company. I'm a little baffled.
