Crooked RE Investor Trying To Evict My Aunt! Please Advise!
My aunt signed a 1 yr lease ($3000 down) with an investor in a sandwich lease option. 1 yr passed and she was unable to secure a mortgage. The investor offered her a year extension under the same terms (rent $950). Soonafter, he increased the rent to $1100 (no provision in contract providing for such increases; most homes in area rent for $750). They paid the new rent (a few late payments, 5 days max) and now he's evicting them! (Although he told them that the bank is foreclosing.) He offered them $500 to move out. Seems shady to me. Thoughts? Any recourse?!? Up a creek without a paddle?! VERY URGENT! Thanks for all replies, hopeful or not!
