Would Quit Claim Deed Be Enough For Property Transfer Between Father/daughter?
I own a rental/investment home with my father in New York There is no mortgage or any form of lien on the home. He wants to give up all rights to the house for Medicaid planning. Would a quit claim deed be enough to give me full rights to the property without Medicaid coming back to me in the years to come, claiming he still owns half of the house? What is the procedure for actually getting his name off the deed? Do I need a lawyer to make up the Quit Claim, or would online forms be acceptable ? Thanks in advance for any help
