Is it right that you could use your SS# as an EIN for the LLC? My LLC has one owner with no employess. If so, am I still being protected. [ Edited by Robert_L on Date 07/23/2007 ]
An LLC is a seperate entity from you personally. I would call the FED and get a different EIN for tax purposes, if nothing else. Realize that if you use your SS#, that will be the only federal recognition.
I just went thru this w/ the CPA and atty short answer is you can use SSN but if you want create the appearance of another entity, you can use a EIN.
all single member LLC are disregard entities an file sched C. A couple guys pounded that into after my CPA did it wrong the 1st year.
