Closing Date

My siblings and I are selling our deceased mother's house. We signed to close on August 11, 2003. Negotiations were made to pay her credit card debts from the proceeds of the house by the 28th. I was informed today that the buyer wants to close on the 23rd. If for some reason, closing does not occur in enough time to pay the negotiated amount to the creditors, can we refuse to proceed? We live in Illinois.

Thank you,
Judy Cureton

you can always change your mind dont know if you will still have to pay the realtor for not following through with the sale.
