Late Fees

I am wondreing if it is legal to charge late fees on rentals in Florida and if so how much am I allowed to charge? Also I have a tenant that has done alot of work for me, they have now billed me after a dispute, am I liable to pay this? Thank you

It is certainly legal, we charge $50 if paid after 5 days late, an additional $25 each week it is unpaid, course, too long and they are evicted.

Rarely does it work out with a tenant doing work for you. Is the person no longer a tenant? I would try to work it out where you both are happy and just not use them again. A little bit of money is better to lose than having a pissed off handyman that does damages to your properties.

This is still my tenant. What can happen if I do not paythis bill they sent me?

What can happen? Perhaps nothing, perhaps they sue you, perhaps they never pay rent again and break everything in site while you frantically go through the eviction process. You have to determine what the right choice is.
