Is Rehabbing/owning Properties Something That Can Be Done Easily As A Side Career?
If I have a career but then want to also own properties, is this too difficult for me?
Basically what I am asking is, if I am going to do real estate, should I fully or partially focus on real estate?
Thanks.
Most start off doing it part time........some have come into it coming off a job loss.
It is best that you read as much as you can about REI..........join a local RE club and go from there......

Hey,
REI takes time. As long as you have the extra time in your life now, then you can involve yourself in REI. If you do not have a spare 10-20 hours a week, then you will have to sacrifice something.
No one here can tell you if you are willing to give up something you enjoy .
Why anyone would only want to do REI as a side career is something I can't understand! Once I began to read up on REI and actually put those principles into action I was addicted to finding other deals and creative REI angles. I think once you get in and have a positive experience with REI, everything else will take a distant second.
Good luck

If you have a job that will allow you to take daily personal calls and maybe take a 15 minute break a few times a week then you should be fine to take on a handful of rental properties. It depends largely on how flexible your employer is and how convienient the location of the property is. I live next door to two 4plexes that I own and 15 minutes from another one. The ones I live next to take no time at all. I keep the rents low on the other one to keep down the turnover rate. Also the amount of work you need to put into it fluctuates with the season just like real estate purchases.
