Investing In Real Estate Programs

Has anyone ever heard of "Innovative Software Systems"? My husband and I are looking for a program to use to help us venture into real estate investing. This company calls us every day asking us to purchase their program ($1,500.00). We checked out their website and the BBB but can't get much info.? Or can anyone recommend a great program to use to get started in RE investing? Thanks.

Have not heard of this company, but here is my 2 cents: There is about $50,000 worth of free advice on these boards right out in the open - millions once you start really getting into everything. When I first got into REI, I bought a $99 cassette & book program, which unbeknownst to me at the time, has so far been the most informative & useful *to me* (beauty is in the eye of the beholder!). In the beginning, after visiting websites and signing up for mailing lists, I received tons of phone calls wanting me to buy software ranging from $300-$5000 or sign up for mentorship programs ranging from $5000-$12000. These were high pressure, btw.

I kind of felt that the cash I DID have in pocket should go towards buying RE, not towards programs that may or may not make me money. And I was fortunate that I found TCI pretty early on!

Being new, get your feet wet. You might buy into this program and it turns out to be useless to you in a year because you've taken a certain direction in REI it doesn't address adequately. In a year, you will know better if this software will really help or not. Unless you've got $$ to burn, that $1500 is *working capital* - use it to buy ad space/bandit signs (We Buy Houses), invest in a tax lein, option money on a L/O, carpet & paint in a rehab, etc.

...and if you do invest in that program, be sure to report in how it has been helpful to you!

    Good Luck!
    Lisa
