Increase Credit Card Limit (How)?

Since I cancelled one of my credit cards that I used for rehabbing, I've been trying to get my credit limit increased on three other cards that I have to make up the loss. However, all the card companies want to pull credit which I will not allow. I've been with these companies for more than 6 years and have excellent payment history. Never missed a payment, I pay off the balance every month on all but one card (on this one I pay much more than the minimum required).

Is it possible to get the credit limit increased without pulling credit and having a hit? I have tried to talk to supervisors but keep getting the same stonewall.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
JS.

Soft pulls won't hurt you ... are you saying they'll only pull hard?

If so, you might as well add a new card if you're going to have to take a hard pull.

If you don't have any revolving credit at all, that is a major negative, as far as score goes. Apply for a credit card, put about 10% of the limit on it in charges, cut it up, and pay the minimum payments for a while. This raised my middle score from 605 to 670... sometimes no credit can be worse than bad credit.

Also, have you looked at all *3* of your reports and scores?

Most lenders like to see 3 credit lines with 12 months of activity. The car loan is one credit line, try for 2 credit cards, charging SOME everyday needs, like gas and groceries, and pay the monthly bills. This will increase your scores, by how much I don't know.

    Good Luck

I would also get a copy of your credit report - this should be an annual occurance. You might be surprized what may be on it.
