If A Tree Falls In The Forest...

A recent South Florida thunderstorm dropped a few large branches on my tenants cars last week. I asked the tenants to put the claims through their insurance and I would pay deductible. The first one refused claiming her premium would go up. Well, low and behold, she faxed multi thousand dollar estimates plus had the audacity to say that does not include the rental car she would need while it was being repaired. The windstorm deductible is $2k. Am I toast or can I insist she claim and help her with deductible? Thanks mad [ Edited by Cornell81 on Date 06/26/2005 ]

Sounds like you should have a talk with your property hazard insurance carrier. You may have some liability here. If your insurance company wants her insurance company to share the costs of repair, let the insurance companies work it out.

    Cornell81,

What did your insurance company have to say about your liability?
